An epic engagement session that felt like a romantic old hollywood film.

There are some sessions that just feel like magic from the moment you park the car, and Johnny and Cassie’s engagement photos at Griffith Observatory were exactly that kind of night. We arrived just before sunset… The sky was clear, the city was glowing, and the air was filled with that Los Angeles energy where everything feels possible.

Griffith Observatory can be busy, but somehow it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I think it was just the joy of these two celebrating this special season in their lives, and their love for each other that made everything else fade into the background.

We wandered around the Observatory with its iconic views of the city and Hollywood sign. I loved watching Johnny’s face light up as he held Cassie. There was this one moment when Johnny and Cassie were snuggled in close with the coin binoculars next to them, and that image will stay engrained in my mind forever – it felt straight out of a romantic movie.

I’m now based in Atlanta, Georgia, but I still love to go back and photograph weddings in Los Angeles—especially after photographing weddings there for so many years. As a wedding photographer, getting to capture completely different vibes and landscapes, from Georgia’s hills to iconic California spots like Griffith Observatory, keeps me inspired. Sessions like Johnny and Cassie’s are such a reminder of why I absolutely love what I do.
