There’s something about a foggy Malibu evening at Point Dume that feels romantic and cinematic in the most effortless way—and Katie and Steve’s engagement session was exactly that.
As an Atlanta-based wedding photographer, I’m always grateful for the chance to photograph along the California coast, and Point Dume Beach in Malibu never disappoints. The dense fog rolled in just as we started, wrapping everything in a quiet, mysterious atmosphere that honestly made me feel like we were on a quest straight out of Lord of the Rings… just with much better-looking characters. 😉
It was such a pleasure getting to know Katie and Steve and creating these beautiful, epically California images that will remind them of this engagement season for years to come. If there’s one word I would use to describe this sweet couple, it’s kind. I loved seeing the genuine, joyful smiles between them as they walked along the shore and took in the views from the cliffs of Point Dume above.
Sessions like this are a reminder that it doesn’t take much to create something meaningful. A beautiful setting, a little fog, and a couple who truly enjoys being together.
Katie and Steve, I praise God for bringing you together! I’m so excited for what’s ahead for you both.
